Summer 2017 - I rode my bike over 1300 miles along the Sierra Cascade route. From the coast over the San Gabriel’s to Sequoia, Kings Canyon, Yosemite, Tahoe, Mt. Shasta, Ashland, and Bend, OR. Temperatures ranged from 105 to below freezing. There was no shortage of natural beauty, but the kindness of strangers was the most striking thing of all. Countless invitations to share campsites, front yards, and meals. Everyday I was reminded by people about an awesome journey they made, whether on bike, or foot, or a road trip with their family. The common theme was that folks had been treated so great on their journeys and they wanted nothing more than to share the love.
